KCYL is the official youth Organisation of Arch-Eparchy of Kottayam. It is formally inaugurated in the diocese on 1969 by the late Bishop Mar Thomas Tharayil. The KCYL Unit in St. Pius Xth Church is formally inaugurated on 30th September 1990 by Rt. Rev. Thomas Kumbakattil, Vicar General Trivandrum Arch-Diocese. This meeting was presided by Rev. Fr. Abraham Paradiyil, the first Chaplain of KCYL Unit.

The all round well being and prosperity of Knanaya Catholics in general and Knanaya Catholic women in particular. By nurturing the intellectual, social educational, cultural talents, enable the women to actually lead the Christian family life. In this way make the knanaya society witness to Christian ideals.
